Course Overview:

Calling all junior Sherlock Holmes! This thrilling 3-hour workshop will transform your child into a skilled detective, ready to tackle perplexing mysteries! Through different STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) hands-on activities and role-playing, young investigators will embark on a journey to sharpen their analytical thinking and master crime-solving techniques.


Will your child be able to crack the code and solve the mystery of 'The Hijacked Lunchbox'?


Course Content:

In this workshop, our dectetives will uncover the truth behind 'The Hijacked Lunchbox' through a series of experiments and anaylsis.


They will complete the following projects during this 3 hours workshop:

- Secret Message Deciphering II: Crack coded messages left behind by the lunchbox culprit, using your detective skills and critical thinking.

- Mystery Powder Analysis: Become a scientific expert! Experiment with different tests to identify the unknown powder found near the crime scene.

- Microscopic Evidence: Sharpen your observation skills by examining clues under a microscope, uncovering hidden details that might crack the case wide open!


Learning Outcomes:

In this camp, Explorers will engage in different activities to:


A. Learn the importance of collecting evidence and understand the concept of trace evidence and how it can be used in investigations.


B. Develop observation skills by identifying different types of evidences


C. Learn how microscopes work as well


D. Develop deductive reasoning and problem-solving skills by decoding encrypted messages using traditional deciphering tools and analysis of the evidence


Teaching Methods:

Experiential Learning: Students will be acquiring knowledge through firsthand experiences and engaging in practical, hands-on activities.
